BIOGRAPHY
As Managing Editor of Soap Opera Update Magazine, John has danced on the same
floor with All My Children
’s Susan Lucci at Tavern on the Green, interviewed General Hospital's famed Anna
Lee about her role in the film
“Whatever Happened to Baby Jane” and was the first to put into print that Parker Posey, after making her acting
debut on As The World Turns, would become a shining star far beyond soaps.
While employed at The Actors
’ Fund of America, he escorted Celeste Holme down West 44th street arm in arm,
hearing firsthand stories of the making of
“All About Eve.” And, clad in his tuxedo, he once snuck into the Brown Derby, just to stand next
to the table where Bette Midler and David Geffen were having dinner.
Through his work at Saks, he met Carolina Herrera and Oscar de la Renta, whom he
idolized ever since he was old enough to reach the foot pedal of his mother's
Singer. A close second was watching Ru Paul strut his/her stuff at the Betsy
Johnson runway show. Since then, women of a certain quality have been the
subject of his works and still play an important role in his life.
Mr. Penzotti currently resides in the historic Allentown district of Buffalo New
York with his 5 year old Marmalade Tabby, Sebastian, occupying the same
building which once served as residence to F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Since its publishing in 2003, “Five Blue Haired Ladies…” has played theaters from England to Zurich to Scotland, Costa del Sol and
Calgary Canada. His sense of humor and writing style has been compared by UK
critics to that of SEX
& THE CITY. This year also marked the play’s return and 4th UK Tour on the occasion of its 10th anniversary, as well as the
second edition publishing of the play, featuring John's artwork on the cover.
The completion and pending publication of his first full novel; TURNING: A
Bloodline Confession will mark his return to the publishing world as well.
